The Sheep Door

Is there a stairway to heaven?

Every world religion claims to have access to God. Whether we are talking about a tribal, 3rd world belief or a global religion, each has their own nuanced traditions and rituals that they believe allow us access to God.

But what if religion got it wrong? What if the path to God has more to do with our ability to hear and see beyond everything?

In today’s episode, we will examine the parable of the Sheep Door and see how it reframes access to God from performance and religious ascent into a descending experience where we actually believe God has our back.

Day Labor and Justice for All…

“Do you think justice is about making things fair?”

Our world commonly understands justice as it extends to equality and fairness. When things aren’t fair, we demand justice. In our broadcast today we look at another form of justice that isn’t based on what is fair, but what is right?

Join me now as we see beyond justice into a parable that reveals a very disappointing truth, that if grasped, will transform everything.

Seeing and Not Seeing

“Do you think your religious belief is the only one that is true?”

The healing of the man born blind is not really about physical healing, but the miracle of sight, particularly spiritual seeing. Truth, light, and seeing are metaphors to access something well beyond the story.

Join me now as we learn to see beyond everything as we unearth a larger picture that is so uncomfortable that most religious people will simply reject it.

Arguments, Adultery and Dirt

Does unbelief or disobedience bring condemnation?

In today’s episode, we take a wide angle lens and view the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery.  Once you see the context into which this story has been inserted, the larger message begins to emerge.

Join me now as we see beyond the story of forgiveness into an exploration of that part of us that wants God to condemn another. If we can see beyond everything, perhaps we too can finally drop our stones
