282-Part 4- The Stumbling Block of Justice

“Has religion ever produced superior people? Or just those who think they are?

In today’s podcast and post we continue our deep-dive course on the subterranean world of our sin as we look closely at how it is related to our misunderstanding of Justice. As a result, religion divides our world into sinners and saints.

Join me now as prove that retribution has been replaced with restoration, and why neither the religious nor the irreligious can handle this Good News.

263-Called Out 5: The Message

“What is the message of the Church? If you answered; “The Gospel,” you’re right. But what is the Gospel?”

In today’s podcast and post we look closer at the message of the Church, the Gospel. Everyone has heard of it and most of us think we know what it is, but is there more to the message?

Join me now as we see beyond the common, evangelical understanding of the Gospel and look closer at how the Bible describes it. I think we’ll discover that our understanding of the Gospel is far too small.

196- The Impulse to Retaliate

“What do you think about retaliation? Is there a time and place to get even?

In today’s podcast and post we continue our study of the Sermon on the Mount and explore the impulse to retaliate. The ethos to retaliate is a vestigial residue from our pre-rational consciousness, it’s a low-level impulse upon which we have built the world. What would happen if we just let go of retaliation in favor of something more?

Join me now and we see beyond the impulse to retaliate and look closer at a far more powerful alternative.

Day Labor and Justice for All…

“Do you think justice is about making things fair?”

Our world commonly understands justice as it extends to equality and fairness. When things aren’t fair, we demand justice. In our broadcast today we look at another form of justice that isn’t based on what is fair, but what is right?

Join me now as we see beyond justice into a parable that reveals a very disappointing truth, that if grasped, will transform everything.

116- Healing Love

Healing is beyond our comprehension. We’ve explored beauty and our frameworks for healing but today we explore the biggest thing that exists. Our world has an overwhelming amount of pain and what we call “meaningless suffering.” How can anything heal us at this point? What is the path of healing? The proclamation of love is that it restores everything. How can this possibly be true? In this podcast and post I use metaphors to access the trans-rational aspects of our thinking and open us up to our inner spinster who fears loving again. We will learn that the only category big enough to understand and heal human suffering is that of love. Healing love begins immediately once we remove ourselves as the goalie of our heart.

88- Justice: It’s NOT what you think.

Based on all the feedback and questions I decided to add one more addition to this series. It will be extremely difficult to expand or alter one’s view of Heaven and Hell unless we get to the bottom of JUSTICE. In this post and podcast, I will prove that justice is not based in retribution as we are all taught, but in restoration. The overarching goal of God is not to get even with us, but to make everyone of us whole. For those who can’t get over injustice, I share a story that destroys retribution and I offer a link with 132 verses from scripture just to prove how predominant this alternative sense of justice really is.

56- Is God mad at you? Part 3

We’ve now explored how we came to believe that God is mad, and we have also seen why so many people need to have an angry God. It all comes down to our understanding of JUSTICE. In this weeks post and podcast, I share Jesus’ parable on the workers in the vineyard and how this is a metaphor that explains the justice of Heaven. Restoration and retribution are two very different forms of justice and Jesus explains that the closer you are to one, the further you are to the other. This throws a huge kink in our religious systems if we don’t have the pieces to sort it all out. Fortunately, Jesus give us those in next weeks post.
