Homosexuality is a hot button. This issue has divided the church, our culture, our families, and society. People who have a sincere love for God and His Word find themselves in tension with also having a sincere love for those who have same sex attraction. Most people assume they know what the Bible says about homosexuality simply because they read some text out of Leviticus, or by the way Paul speaks of it in the New Testament, but what if the issue is NOT homosexuality, but something much more common to us all?
We don’t have to settle for low-consciousness platitudes like “love the sinner, hate the sin.” The issues surrounding LBGTQA are far more nuanced than to levy a blanket statement of unqualified opposition, disgust or even hatred by the church. Neither should the church adopt the posture of the wider culture in its unquestioned blanket acceptance.
This series walks you through the deeper nuances so that you can understand the real issue is not with homosexuality, but with authority and sexual immorality. This lens will open up the Bible passages that have been used to bludgeon our brothers and sisters, and free us into our own personal responsibility which is shared with all others.
