SIN…Really?

Say the word “sin” and people polarize toward over-identifying with it, or minimizing it. Both extremes will allow sin to wreck our lives. Sin is not simply a moral construct, it is also not a thing we do, nor something we fail to do…in fact, it’s not ultimately a behavior.

Sin is a state of being. Specifically, it’s a state of being “not in faith” and that definition opens up the real conversation, which leads us to understand our own falsehood or fake ID’s. I’ll also introduce why the issue of Justice is such a quagmire, though I cover that much more here.

So if you are exhausted from pastors endlessly talking about sin because their version of the Gospel is a clean-up on isle 4, or some spiritual sanitizer, then this will help you heal. If you know intuitively that some things are truly horrible and wrong, but you want a non-judgy lens through which you can finally understand why you can intuit such things, then this series is for you.

Welcome to sin for grownups. Put on your floaties. I’m taking you to the deep end of the pool.
